  Blood Issue: Will Literature Be Destroyed?

  i understand that one immediate effect of the "big news" about the watchtower's possible liability on blood transfusion will be.

  that elders are ordered to destroy all copies of previous directives on blood.

  however, this limited response seems inadequate.

  Just rec'd my 10 copies FROM Baylor this morning.
  
  I was talking to an aquaintence on the telephone when the mailman dropped them in the box.
  she is a nurse and has seen the WT policy in action in the small & big city hospitals.
  She is a cancer survivor and a girl with a purpose for a life and is passionate about LIFE!
  
  I am friends with her brother.
  I don't think I've ever talked to this girl on the phone more than a couple of times in 20 years.
  but today...!!! I got her address and will be mailing her a copy - she is more than interested to read & spread it around.

  like so many people, i'm (very carefully)trying to convey the obvious "truth" about the wtb&ts to some of the members of my family.

  is there any key point that "stands out" in your memory as pivotal in the opening of your eyes?

  or any particular point that may have opened the eyes of your loved ones?

  I am not a JW, but what prevented me from getting sucked in (other than the obvious)
  was like Almost Dave said - the Lies.
  The outright ones - claiming one thing when another is true
  The lies by omission - like 1914 has always been the date
  The misquotes - when the real context is known, it is actually opposite.
  Saying onething, doing/preaching another - and the plain speaking out of both sides of their mouth.
  Docrtine is interpretation.
  Lies are provable - hence the tear down of Quotes website.
  
  This GIVES God a BAD NAME - doesn't VINDICATE it!
  
  The quotes about abhoring child abuse but reporting it only in states that require it MAKE ME SICK.
  I could not ever be affiliated with a group who's leaders have this attitude.
  I even have a hard time being married to one - but I try not to think about it.
  
  I predict his thread will be a long one.

  Did you notice, though, how similar this cavalry is to the locusts that preceded it? The locusts were like horses; in the cavalry there are horses. Both, then, are involved in theocratic warfare.

(Ephesians 6:17; Revelation 9:15, 18) This indicates proper organization and theocratic direction under the oversight of the Lord Jesus Christ as the awesome band of Kingdom proclaimers charges forth to the battle.

  Has the "custody" brochure already been discussed, re: the "Big News"?

  for the first time today, i saw the brochure the society publishes to prepare jw parents in dealing with custody issues.

  they have sample questions that a lawyer might ask and sample answers you might give that take the bite out of the question.. one such question is, "do you teach that it is better to die than to take a blood transfusion?".

  the suggested answer is interesting, since the big news recently highlighted how the watchtower has dishonestly suggested that blood transfusions carry more risks than benefits.

  I was just looking thru the mounds of stuff I've collected over the years and came across a letter dated dec 10 1999 from the WT in Britian which says in part....
  
  We are in the process of contacting all solicitors/firms who are members of a nationwide panel of solicitors who accept instructions from individual members of Jehovah's Witnesses who may be involved in litigation over the residence or contact of children.
  According to our records you have been the recipient of the "Litigation Pack" that was released in 1992. We have recently revised this document and t is with pleasure that we enclose your personal copy of "Jehovah's Witnesses Child Care Pack. This document has been prepared to provide assistant to lawyers who are handling cases affecting children of JWs.............
